Keynote Speakers

Nicole Allen is the Director of Open Education for SPARC, a non-profit advocacy organization working to make knowledge sharing systems more open and equitable. For over a decade, Nicole has led SPARC’s work to advance open educational resources and practices that benefit students. Her work has been a driving force behind state and federal policy achievements, including securing more than $50 million in federal appropriations for open textbook grants and establishing an open licensing policy at the U.S. Department of Education. Nicole oversees numerous projects, including a broad librarian community of practice, a leadership program for open education professionals, and administrative support for the annual Open Education Conference.

Kevin Corcoran is the Assistant Vice Provost of the Center for Distributed Learning at the University of Central Florida. Kevin has over 25 years of experience in the development and support of strategies for the effective use of digital learning tools and content that focuses on quality standards and practices, student engagement, accessibility and affordability. Kevin has supported system, state, and national open education efforts over the past decade, including chairing the statewide Connecticut OER Coordinating Council and the DOERS3 collaborative.
